Astra Surveying is seeking an EXPERIENCED Survey CAD Technician to create As-built drawings along with other CAD related tasks in the areas of underground utilities, earth work and roadways.

The successful land survey technician will have a minimum of 5 years' experience and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Experience with 3-D surface modeling is preferred but not required for this position. Our ideal candidate will be a professional and organized individual who can fill several roles while working effectively

with our surveying and planning team members.

Job Functions

• Prepare various types of survey plats including As-Built, Boundary, Topographic, Tree, ALTA, etc
• Process and interpret survey data collected in the field
• Perform mathematical survey calculations.
• Read and interpret maps, surveys, and construction drawings.
• Write legal descriptions.
• Prepare As-Built Drawings from Field As-Built Surveys per County Requirements
• Perform QA/QC
• Provide daily support for survey field crews for ongoing projects
• Prepare stakeout notes, point files, and DXF files for construction stakeout projects

Qualifications

• Construction Surveying background
• Strong Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Minimum of 5 years' experience
• Ability to read and understand civil & architectural plans
• Import survey data
• Able to communicate to field crews if work is missing
• Understand different municipalities' requirements
• Knowledge of land surveying techniques, principles and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret survey plats, deeds, legal descriptions, easements, and right of ways
